Biography

Welcome to my website. My name is Andrew Madej and I am a self taught wildlife and landscape photographer. Living close to the Canadian Rocky Mountains, I have had many opportunities to encounter wildlife and witness majestic landscapes. My attention to dynamic lighting conditions, composition and detail has allowed me to capture incredible moments. Many of these experiences have been magical, awe-inspiring and thought provoking.

 

As our planet is suffering a staggering rate of environmental change, our landscapes are dramatically changing and our wildlife is facing increasing global threats from climate change, pollution and loss of habitat through deforestation, urban sprawl and industrialization. Globally, wildlife populations are significantly declining and many species are threatened with extinction. Unfortunately, wildlife encounters will become rarer.

 

I hope that my photos can evoke an emotional response and inspire a greater appreciation for the beautiful landscape around us and for the unique wildlife with whom we share our fragile planet.
